Prof. Hakan Usta, faculty member at the Department of Material Science and Nanotechnology Engineering and director of the Graduate School of Engineering and Science at Abdullah Gül University (AGU), has been awarded the 2020 TÜBİTAK Incentive Award thanks to his internationally acclaimed studies in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology.
The 2020 TÜBİTAK Incentive Awards has been announced. The Executive Board of TÜBİTAK decided to give 4 Science Awards, 1 Special Award, and 13 Incentive Awards in 2020.
According to the statement made by TÜBİTAK, Prof. Hakan Usta of the AGU Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering has been given the incentive award for "his internationally recognized outstanding work on molecular engineering, organic optoelectronic materials, nanostructures and new generation devices in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology."
Prof. Hakan Usta completed his doctoral and post-doctoral research in the USA between 2004-2013 and has been continuing his academic studies at AGU since 2013.
As the researcher of several widely acclaimed scientific studies on molecular engineering and organic semiconductors, Prof. Hakan Usta has published more than 60 articles in the world's most prestigious scientific journals such as Nature Materials, Nature Communications, and Advanced Materials and has 15 accepted patents.
TUBITAK gives the Incentive Award to scientists based in Turkey who have proven with their studies that they have the qualities to contribute significantly to the science at an international level in the future and are not over 40 on the first day of the year when the award is given.
